A Very Fandom Christmas

As the convention season comes to a close, a lot of us are looking at the next few months and wondering what to do with ourselves; well fear not! The C Word has been scouting around the internet and has found a few tid bits to tide you over until the New Year and that all important first convention and let’s face it, there’s a lot of goodies to look forward to next year.
Panto season is upon us and what better way to get a little slice of fandom than to see our favourite Who actors prancing around the stage making fools of themselves. The C Word has taken a quick look about the net and found our very favourite of all that Panto has to offer, with just enough Who to see us through to February.

First up is Captain Jack Harkness himself, John Barrowman. John is appearing at the Glasgow Clyde Auditorium in the swashbuckling family favorite “Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates” Shows run from 17 Dec 2011 – 07 Jan 2012. We bought our tickets quite a while back but, if you’re lucky, you might still snag yourself a seat.
Fresh from his tour of “The Woman In White”, The Doctor himself, Colin Baker, dons the villain’s cap once more as the evil ‘Fleshcreep’ in “Jack and The Beanstalk” at the Mansfield Palace Theatre in this classic tale for all the family.
Jack and The Beanstalk runs from 03 Dec 2011 – 06 Jan 2012 http://www.mansfield.gov.uk/palacetheatre/december.htm
Bonnie Langford is a veteran of the Pantomime scene and so when we heard she was playing the Fairy Fuschia in Jack and The Beanstalk, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the Christmas period than to watch a much loved Doctor’s companion light up the room with her bubbly effervescence and bring a little sunshine into these dark winter months.
You can see Bonnie in Jack and The Beanstalk at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre from 20 Dec 2011 – 08 Jan 2012.

There are lots of performances out there to keep your inner geek going until the New Year. If you’re planning to visit any of the events above, or if you know of anything happening over the next few months, why not let us know.
